vacation

We are leaving a day later, no special reason, just is. We will leave Monday morning and will be gone two weeks. I will try to write on here, but if not able to access a computer(no laptop) I wll update this when I get back. I will be in Colorado and then cross country to
Mobile Alabama and the home. Should be fun!

I am so new at this

I may delete my chriswyafamily one, because I can't seem to post on it anymore. I have linked them together but in the end, I am unable to post on anyone of them but glory2001. After vacation(I can't do it now, because I do not know how to fix this problem) I will try to get this fixed. I want to end up with a blog everybody can blog on and one my grandkids can blog privately to me. That is what I tried to do BUT being a little slow at this blogging. I guess I screwed up. LOL Oh, well, live and learn. It is fun trying.

going on vacation

I am going to be - on the road - for a couple weeks, my husband and I have a chance at a free condo in Breckenridge, colorado, for a week, and then we are traveling across the country to Mobile, Alabama for a couple days. He has a Navy ship reunion. It will be fun, exhausting and expensive. When I get back, I am going to pay attention to my blogs. I am thinking of keeping Chriswya a family thing, and glory2001 my public one for my "net friends". What do you think of that? My daughter moved halfway across the country and if I made chriswya private we could chat every day. My grandkids could also. Would that be a good move? Let me know. I am going to do something.

July 4th

I have to get busy and write more on this, I hope to get better. I had a lovely 4th of July. My kids could not make it, but these things happen. They had to work, my daughter is selling her house, so she must get it ready to sell. My twins boys both had to work. My husband, my aunt and myself, and my one son's girlfriend had a nice supper of hamburgers on the grill, macaroni salad, romaine salad, and homemade apple pie.
Today the July 5th we are going to a picnic at my friends house. They started to have this last year, as a way of getting their daughter and son-in-law to get to see everybody. They are here from Georgia,(a state in southern US) and this way they can invite all the friends and relatives and can see everybody in one place, instead of traveling all over, using tons of gas, and not getting to see anybody for any length of time.
My vegetable garden is growing so fast that I may have let it get out of control. The next few days I have to concentrate on working on it.
I also have to get everything set for my class reunion next week, and a family reunion at the first of August. I also have a couple of other picnics I need to go to in July. I think I am overbooked
What I really want to do is sit in the shade and read and drink ice tea. Well, I hope everybody had a nice 4th of July, and a good weekend.

busy June

I have been busy so far this month, with my gardens and my grandkids etc. We were at our
son's house this weekend to watch my grandson play baseball. He is staying with his dad this year, and so far, they are having a great time. We had a cookout and he cooked breakfast, the next morning.
I will have all three of my grandkids, the last week in June. That will be fun,exhausting, and expensive. I have a grandson 14 years old, a granddaughter 11, and another grandson also 11 years old. They are always hungry, and busy.
I have 7 flower gardens of various sizes, and one Large vegetable garden, as well as many many pots of flowers scattered around, This is what I do in April, May and June, get them ready and then maintain them the rest of the year.
I am also helping organize my high school reunion, and I am secretary/ treasurer of the family reunion. I organize that whole reunion.
I go to curves 4 or 5 times a wee,, and of course, the rest of my so called free time, is spent on reading and my favorite activity, SHOPPING and going to breakfast with the girls.

It is a good thing, I am retired, I do not have time to work.

I also am organizing our family pictures, and trying to do both sides(my husbands and mine)genealogical background.
My husband likes to stay home, mow lawn, and well stay home. We balance each other out. We do like to go visit our family and our friends, that we met at his navy reunion. They are scattered around the country. We hope to start traveling to see them. and of course, we have a reunion, once a year. This year is in Mobile, Alabama. Hurricane Katrina canceled our reunion that last time we tried to have a reunion in Mobile. Let us hope, for every one concerned, that there will be no terrible hurricane this year.
Well, have to go back to my veggie garden, break is over, have a good day!!!

getting into blogging

I am definitely new at this, but I will get the hang of this.
I have been working on all my flower garden and my large veggie garden today. The wind is blowing hard so it is a bit difficult. I got the veggie garden weeded finally. It has been raining so much, I have not been able to get in mt garden. I now have to plant all the flowers I bought yesterday at the different nurserys. Some are going in different little gardens I have, and other plants will be put in container planting.
If I can get the hang of this, I may take pictures of my gardens and put them on this blog.
I have to take my son to work now, so I will write more later.
