January!!!

It has been more than a week, and I said I was not going to be absent from blogging but I do have a couple good reasons, I painted my kitchen baby blue and I went through stuff and it looks real nice with new curtains, uncluttered counters.
Yesterday I looked in the fridge and saw that I had meat and veggies, etc that was going to spoil, so I went on a cooking binge, roast and potatoes, turkey meat loaf balls, Tapioca pudding, turned the veggies into an Italian veggie soup, that I am going to serve with wheat pasta. My son lives next door, so he has to come over for supper every night(this does not bother him, he is a bachelor, and microwaves everything) except chili and hot dogs with sauce.He can make those. He can make more he just chooses not to.
Today I am putting off cleaning my desk, I have been trying to do this for a couple weeks, and it seems I do not want to do it.
More tomorrow!! I hope. Lol

old friend

Today I connected with an old friend, we have been friends for a long time, but about 6 years ago she opened a restaurant, and she was busy with that, and was busy with many different things. She rode with me to take my aunt to the airport, and we spent the rest of the day, doing errands, and just talking about things, the past, family, and we went to her house and just talked and drank coffee and tea. It was a very quiet day and a very rewarding day. We will be doing this again, it is so surprising how you just go back to where you left off, in our friendship. I guess, you never lose and old friend, really, you just misplace them.

wildlife

Well, I have had racoons, coyotes, rabbits, baby wrens, wild cats, and now I have been blessed(?) with a possum. He does not seem to bother anything, he just comes on my deck walks around looking for food, hides behind my snow shovel and then we think, he moved in the house I built for the wild cat and kittens. Well, now what do I do, do I leave him alone, as he is not bothering anything, or do I a possum eviction? I think because I have so many plants and wild forest garden, they think I am part of the woods(I live by a creek and a large wooden area). I should start charging rent.

Hi from the New Year

Well, it is the 2nd day of the year, and I have tried to keep to my healthy eating life style, I am trying to invent my own, according my to health eating issues, sweet tooth, and living alone. I will admit to a 50/50 tie. I have ate healthy, but I have sandwiched(love puns) a guacamole burger and fries, but on the whole, a good start. I am not discouraged. I have used my new waffle maker, ate one, grandson ate the rest. I am sure with a little research, I could make the waffles a healthy meal choice.
My family has all gone back to their respective homes, and that is normal, I miss them, but this is life.
Now I have to get myself over to the center for my walking and machine work. This is challenge because I want to stay in my warm house and not go out and freeze. I must do it though, okay, I will try.
I hope to paint the wall between my counter and cupboards this week, first I must remove wall paper, and then paint, I hate painting, but this must be done,
